Today, we officially launch the Amuze app. It is available in the iOS App Store and the Google Play Store for Android. The app offers professional audio guides for some of the best art museums in Europe and North America. As of today, tours are available for the Legion of Honor Museum, Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Gallery, National Gallery of Art, Prado Museum, Uffizi Museum, and the Vatican Museums. You can try it out for free to see if this is something that you would like to use on your next museum visit.

The app offers several advantages to the museum visitor:
  • Professional audio tours that are entertaining and informative. And the tours are currently available for free.
  • Convenient locations and directions to easily navigate the museums.
  • It is lightweight and easy-to-use, making it ideal for travelers. There is no battery drainage and tours can be downloaded even without a great Wi-Fi connection.
  • Tours for multiple museums in a single app.

Before creating this app, we have done extensive marketing research to better understand how museum visitors can get more out of their museum visits. This led to some interesting insights.
  1. Many people enjoy exploring the museum on their own or with their friends and family.
  2. While people like to go through the museum at their own pace, they still would like to be informed and learn about the art using an audio tour.
  3. Major museums contain so much art that many people find it challenging to decide what departments and artworks to admire.
  4. Audio tours can be expensive and somewhat monotone, leading to fatigue among the visitors.
  5. Audio devices or museum apps are not always easy to navigate, leading to frustrations among people with limited patience and time.
  6. Visitors get frustrated by simultaneously juggling an audio device, map, and their own phone while trying to look at the art in front of them.

The Amuze app addresses all these insights by offering an easy-to-use app with pre-designed tours for the visitors. As it contains the audio and maps in a single app, visitors no longer need to rent a separate audio device and simultaneously hold a printed map. With Amuze you have all the information on a single device, enabling you to pay more attention to the art for which you came to the museum. And as the app is lightweight and designed to preserve your battery, you don’t need to worry about charging your phone midway your visit.

Are you planning to visit the Louvre, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, or the Vatican Museums? Just download the highlights tour for your museum of choice, and we will guide you along some of the masterpieces of that museum. You can do it at your own pace, and we will provide detailed maps to get you from the Vermeer painting to the Da Vinci masterpiece, and then to Rodin’s statue of The Thinker.

As you try out our app, we would love to hear about your experiences via email, Instagram, or Twitter! Let us know what you liked and did not like, and surprise us with your suggestions about future tours we should develop.

We sincerely hope that Amuze makes your museum visits more enjoyable!

Cheers! Eelco
