Now that many museums are reopening again, we have decided to release our latest audio tour. We have added a highlights tour of The Art Institute of Chicago to the Amuze app (available on Android and iOS). This museums has a very large collection of art, and houses some truly iconic works. Among the works, that you cannot miss when visiting the museum is A Sunday at La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat. It is the result of three years of hard work, applying millions of individual dots of paint in the Pointillist style. It is one of those works that continues to amaze viewers every day, and one that is much more impressive when standing in front of it than when looking at an image of it. In the beginning of this tour, works by European masters from the 15th and 16th century: El Greco and Rembrandt. The tour continues with the impressive collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist artworks, including works by Renoir and Van Gogh. But it also includes the magnificent masterpiece Paris Street; Rainy Day by Gustave Caillebotte. The tour continues with several wonderful artworks in the American Art department. Besides works by Mary Cassatt and Thomas Cole, two of the most iconic American artworks in the world are discussed. The first one is Nighthawks by Edward Hopper. And the second one is American Gothic by Grant Wood. They are not the largest paintings, but most people have come across these artworks in some form during their life. The tour explains the ideas behind these works and how they fit within the times that they were painted.
